An undersea earthquake measuring 9.2 on the Richter scale and 120 km off the coast off Portugal has caused a tsunami which has left among 10,000 feared dead or missing in Western Africa and Europe. Rescue efforts are already underway but due to the short amount of time between the earthquake and tsunami, citizens although warned, did not have enough time to evacuate. Spain and Portugal has declared state of emergencies with 500 feared dead or missing in Spain. Evacuation efforts are also underway in the coasts of America, Canada and South America.
Major parts of Northwest Africa; including Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal and Gambia have been affected. The flooding on the coasts have said to affect more than 70,000 people. Efforts to contact Rabat, Morocco have been interrupted due to flooding and uncertain situations.
